& funded in 2001 by Rob Small, a young games enthusiast fresh from
university with a dream to build the next generation game entertainment
company, and Tihan Presbie, an experienced entrepreneur in computerized
financial futures trading who had a passion for innovation and
creativity online.
Miniclip has
seen dramatic growth since its inception in terms of both unique users and
revenue, and has been consistently profitable. Miniclip games have a truly
global audience, with users accessing from over 195 countries.
Now operating in 17 languages, Miniclip continues to evolve and focus on
creating the best possible user experience.
Miniclip has been listed in the Silicon Alley 50 – the World’s most valuable Internet start-ups, the ‘Times Tech Track 100′ and the Deloitte & Touche “Fast 50” in 2008, highlighting it as one of Britain’s fastest growing tech companies. Miniclip became the first and only website to win the prestigious Webby Peoples Voice Award, the “Oscars of the Internet”, for the Internet’s Best Game Site for three consecutive years and in 2008 Robert Small, Miniclip’s CEO, was honoured with the award of “London Entrepreneur of the Year” by Ernst & Young.
